Currently reading the first chapter for Chrno Crusade.
Chrno just said 'Her soul belongs to me. Don't you dare try to absorb it."
after (somehow) saving Rosette from some spirit-monster thing she was
fighting. Is this significant I wonder? Or is it just Chrno acting all
'Mr. Powerful Demon Guy trying to intimidate other monster-thing'? I'm
probably reading too much into it, especially seeing Rosette's reaction to
that comment.
But I'm still confused as to why a demon is willingly
helping a nun exterminate other supernatural entities. I could understand
why in Hellsing - Alucard was under a kind of seal and had no choice, so
he decided to take as much pleasure in killing various zombies, vampires
and other undead creatures as he could, while still being not entirely
happy about having to do so under orders. But Chrno...? Did he start out
evil and was somehow 'contained'? I noticed that the thing around
Rosette's neck is implied to have something to do with Chrno and his power
or something in the anime episode I saw, and that if it was released he
could become out of control or something.
It's kind of funny that Rosette is taller than Chrno *L*
Ah, now we get a closer lok at the pendant thing, it looks like a clock,
and it looks like Rosette adjusts it to allow Chrno to use more of his
powers - a link to Chrno's name, as it's pronounced like 'Chrono' or
'time'?
Chapter 2
Ack! No guy as nice-looking as Remington has any right being a priest-guy!
None at all! *mops up drool-pool* Interesting that Rosette's superior
doesn't seem to approve of Chrno for some reason. It makes me wonder how
he came to be partnered with her on extermination missions.
Ohmigawd! A perverted priest-guy! O_o Iiiiiick!
It's bizzare that Chrno, a demon, is the more cautious and apt to
do as he's told than Rosette *L*
"Contractor" and "contracted"?
Awwww, they're hugging! *mercilessly pounds inner-fangirl into submission
to prevent excess squeeing* Don't jump to conclusions inner-fangirl!
Watch/read the whole thing and decide for yourself, dammit...stupid inner-fangirl...
Ayy?? "As long as Rosette is alive...as long as she doesn't want him like
that, he's stay as a sweet boy"? Me likes what this stuff promises!!

Chapter 3
Is that tall blond guy another contracted demon? *turns page* Ah. I guess
so. And he had issues with Chrno too...
Ehh? Is the twip some kind of...angel or something?? O_o
Chapter 4
Ahhh, I was right! Rosette was pretty young when she and Chrno
first met! *goes onto next panel*
Hmm...Rosette doesn't seem like the 'Nun' type - was she orphaned or
something, and had to be sent to the Order?
Chapter 5
Eh? Does Chrno using his powers, dragging them out of that pocket watch
thing, somehow effect Rosette, using her own energy? Interesting...
*flicks page* Ah, I see. It does. And it's measured on the watch too. Is
it a limited thing? Will it run out if Chrno uses too much, to soon, or in
total...?
Chapter 6
Wow, 'adult' Chrno...!
. . . . . .
*drooooool*
Ouch! I was right about the clock, and Chrno using his power using up
Rosette's life.
*peers @ the preview of vol 2*
Rosette doesn't remember her past? Is that her brother in that picture? We
haven't heard anything of her family, which made me wonder if she was a
orphan. What could have happened to her that she would so happily
sacrifice her life, bit by bit, to defeat demons, monsters and other weird
things?
Chapter 7
Oooh, astral projection?? Cool!
Ahah! My pondering about Chrno somehow having posession of Rosette's soul
was right...blimey. But...the watch being the reason Rosette is
alive...Was she in some kind of mortal danger before she joined the
Magdalan order? And contracting her soul to Chrno somehow saved her? Or
him?
Must...have....more!! This is bloody good stuff! The fanfiction had better
be fan-frickin'-tastic!
I'm definitely falling in fandom love again...no doubt about it.
Chapter 8
Does 'he' need Rosette on his side because she's contracted with Chrno?
And/Or is 'he' that person in the photograph, Rosette's brother?
Chapter 9
Ahah! Yup, she's an orphan!
Heh, Rosette makes me think of Edward Elric crossed with Lina Inverse,
with that temper of hers and the hair.
Ahah, siblings! Right again! Though it wasn't much of a stretch that
one...
Interesting...it looks like Joshua has powers like Azmaria...complete with
wings.
Chapter 10 & 11
. . .
Ooooh, plot! Plot in spades!
Chapter 15
Oooh, full-demon Chrno again! *resumes drooling*
Chapter 16
The hornless demon the witch wifey is after can't be Chrno - Chrno said
that he'd been sealed in that tomb for decades when Rosette and Joshua
found him, and the witch said she saw the demon 10 years ago. So there's
another hornless demon out there...that looks like Chrno?
Chapter 17
Oh god, another series with a 'Nameless Pharaoh'! Hahahaha...Yu-Gi-Oh deja-vu!
Chapter 18
Awwww! ^_^ It's so sweet that Chrno wants to help her so much, and not
just because of the contract I suspect.
Ahahahaha, a character called Steiner! Flashbacks to Final Fantasy IX *L*
Chapter 19
Hmm...
Nothing exactly triggered by anything in this chapter, but...I wonder a
few things.
1) Can Chrno die while Rosette is still alive as a source of astral
energy? 2)If the watch is destroyed, would that kill Rosette? Since it's
what is allowing Rosette's soul to be kept back as a drip-feed type thing.
And more 'on topic' with the chapter...
3) What would happen to Chrno if he was hit with one of those bullets
while the watch was not in Rosette's possession? Does it have to be for
Chrno to even drag out a bit of power?
Chapter 21
Is this Aion the person who the witch (whose name I simply can't remember)
is searching for? Is he the one who looks similar to Chrno?
Chapter 22
*squeeeeeeeeeeeee-#THUNK#* Damn inner-fangirl...*puts heavy blunt object
away again* Must invest in a stock of tranquilizers...
It sounds like Chrno's old 'Demon gang' the Sinners were rebels even
amongst their own kind (destoying Pendaemonium?), with these Pursuers
after them. But it looks like Chrno rebelled even from them. Was he always
so...nice towards humans, or did something change him somehow, which
caused him to leave his gang and Aion to break his horns off? With no
source of astral energy, what did Chrno do before he met the person who
made that watch? Was that the first person he contracted with? Was that
the person in the tomb Chrno was sealed into? Because it didn't look like
he was supposed to be in that thing, just inside the room.
Argh! *screams* end of the chapter!! Nooo!!! And still 9 minutes before
the next comes in! Damn dial-up connection speeds...
Anyway. That was a rather interesting dream-interlude there. Rather
similar to when dream-Chrno brought Rosette back to her body when she was
astral-projecting in volume 2 in fact. Still nothing overtly shippy, but
still...it bodes nicely.
Chapter 23
OK, so now it sounds like the Sinners rebelled against their 'Mother' and
killed those other demons who tried to stop them. Why did Chrno then leave
the Sinners? Did he not agree with actually killing Pandemonium?
Chapter 24
For some reason, Aion reminds me of Integra from Hellsing...only...well...more
male-looking *L* Poor Integra, pegged as a guy by half the fans for a
while. Still, the art in this thing is miles better than Hellsing.
Hellsing and Trigun are the only mangas I've seen so far where I was
terribly disappointed with the scrappy art. True, I can't draw worth beans
myself, but I expect a little more than sketchy art from a published
comic/manga.
Chapter 26
Jeez, is there anything Remington can't do? He's got some kind of weird
cross/light-sword thingy, he has some sort of scheme going on, he flies
planes...he's a regular James Bond in a vicar's dog-collar!
Chapter 27
Haha, how sweet! Offensive dancing *L* Foot-fu!
Chapter 28
Woah, what was that? Does Rosette remind Chrno of a girl he knew before he
was sealed in that tomb?
Chapter 29
*stares at picture in horror* Oh god no, not a cat-girl...>_<
Chapter 31
OK, so...Fiore is Stella's sister...right, gotcha...
Say whaaaat?? The weird spirit-person with the fluffy dress and the
mile-long hair is Rosette?? Nahhh...must be Chrno mistaking that person
for Rosette. But the faces are very similar. O_o I'd cry
'reincarnation!', but I don't think that's how things work in this world,
with that astral line thing.
Now, question time - I guessed that Aion was the demon who Satella's been
after a while back, and is therefore as hornless as Chrno. But...how did
he lose them, and where is he getting his astral power from now?
Oh, and what was that business with Rosette having a 'Soul of Time'? Was
that another scrambled translation? I hope not, they had improved a bit
since chapter 2. Although...if it's not a scrambled translation, it
could be interesting...
Jeez, this last scanslated chapter's taking an age to download! And how
long will it take before the next one is out I wonder? I bet the wait will
be painful!
Chapter 33
Ooooh, that's Magdelane...looks like the girl Chrno remembers, with the
fluffy dress and mile-long blonde hair....oooohhh......
Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! I want mmmmmmooooooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
33 chapters isn't enough when there still three volumes and three chapters
out of volume 5 to read! Dang, I wish I could a) Read Japanese and b)
Import the manga.
