Summary of the
original chapter made specially for the Dragon Age Comic Anthology
This book,
titled Comic Anthology - Dragon All Starswas published in October 2003 by Kadokawa Shoten to
celebrate the tenth anniversary of Fujimi Shoubo, one of their branches,
which is the one that publishes Dragon Age magazine. This book is a
compilation of short stories featuring the characters of Fujimi Shoubo's
most popular series: Slayers, Scrapped
Princess, Fullmetal Panic, Maburaho, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, Louie the
Rune Soldier and of course, Chrno Crusade. This
special chapter was written by Moriyama Daisuke and was illustrated by
Yuzuka Masanari. Though he's relatively unknown in the manga business, he
also works in two series in Dragon Jr. magazine (also published by Fujimi
as well as being part of the production staff for Ragnarok The Animation.
Though the
quality and the artwork design of this special chapter differs greatly
from Moriyama's style, this chapter gives us a good insight of Chrno's
inner feelings, and tells the story from his own point of view. This
chapter deals with Rosette's first mission as a novice inside the Magdalan
Order, which deals with a haunted mansion, apparently abandoned. She is
very nervous on her first assignment and is supervised by Remington, yet
she still misses Chrno's presence, who is not allowed to accompany her.
Chrno, in the meantime, remembers his past with Magdalene while speaking
with the Elder, and feels frustrated for not being able to protect her.
When Sister Kate calls the Elder to inform him about the danger Rosette is
currently in, since the house she's investigating is not even supposed to exist,
Chrno takes the decision of protecting Rosette at all costs, and runs away
to help her...
